We’re thrilled that The Hyde, our newest self-catering cottage, has been chosen to receive a prestigious ROSE Award from VisitEngland.
It’s just one of only three ROSE awards given across the whole of Dorset.
Every year VisitEngland gives out just 100 ROSE Awards to accommodation providers in England. These include B&Bs, guesthouses, hotels, glamping sites, hostels and, of course, self-catering properties like ours.
The awards showcase providers who offer the warmest of welcomes, and where the team are committed to giving customers an excellent experience.
Andrew Stokes, a director of VisitEngland, says the winners: make magical memories for their visitors. They create the bedrock on which tourists build their holiday memories, encouraging them to discover more of the area and driving tourism spend across local communities.
How winners of the ROSE Awards are chosen
The ROSE Award winners are nominated by VisitEngland quality scheme assessors. The organisation has a team of over 50 trained assessors who often visit accommodation providers like us.
The assessors take a close look at our cottages, the services we provide, and, of course, customer feedback. We have plenty of that in our guest books and on TripAdvisor.
The winners are chosen from the nominees. What we all have in common is a dedication to outstanding customer service.
When you’re staying in a ROSE Award property, you’re assured of absolute attention to detail, and a willingness to give that little bit extra to ensure your holiday experience is near-perfect.
Why The Hyde was selected
The Hyde, which sleeps six, is our newest self-catering cottage. We spent about a year creating it from an older property – we put a lot of work into remodelling it.
The Hyde is a split-level cottage. Downstairs has the lounge and kitchen areas, along with a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Upstairs there’s another double and a twin room, along with another bathroom.
The entrance opens onto a patio with views of our gardens.
Like all our cottages, The Hyde has a fully equipped kitchen, and has been tastefully furnished for that ‘home from home’ feel.
But it’s not just decor that makes The Hyde a winner. It’s the service we provide to our customers. We want everyone to feel warmly welcomed, and that we can help with any question or requirement.
We’re not there to intrude on your holiday, but our customers know they can always turn to us for help. Whether it’s directions to the best place to eat, finding a piece of kitchen equipment or helping to unpack your supermarket delivery, we’re there for you.
Our commitment to service is the same for all our self-catering cottages
It may be The Hyde that won the ROSE Award, but we put the same care and attention into all our six self-catering cottages.
Since we opened it in 2023, The Hyde has proved hugely popular with families. It works well for multi-generational holidays, allowing grandparents, parents and children to spend time together.
We have another cottage loved by families, Pheasant’s Cottage. It also sleeps six. One of its features is an open fire.
Poacher’s Cottage is a little smaller, sleeping four. It has French doors opening onto our gardens, where it’s not unusual to see deer roaming close by.
Our other three cottages are for couples: Gamekeepers, Foxes and Owl’s Roost. Owl’s is our luxury cottage, popular with guests looking for that country house feel when celebrating an anniversary or other special occasion.
Experience our award-winning accommodation and service
Lots of our guests come back time and time again. Is it because they love Dorset, or because they really enjoy staying with us? Perhaps it’s both!
You can’t go wrong when you choose a ROSE Award provider. Give us a chance to prove that by coming to stay with us.
To show you that winning the ROSE hasn’t gone to our head, we’ve just announced that we will NOT be putting up our prices for 2025. That’s because we’re also committed to providing affordable luxury.
Take a look at our cottages, check out the availability on our website, or just give us a call on 01305 853970. All this digital communication is convenient, but we’d love to speak with you.
