Comfort and convenience for two in Foxes Cottage

Tastefully converted from the original estate milking parlour, The Foxes is an ideal self-catering cottage for couples seeking a relaxing holiday. The cottage has recently been refurbished, bringing it to the M1 standard under the National Accessible Scheme for people with mobility concerns.

The cottage’s comfortable lounge looks out across the Grange courtyard, terrace and gardens through large French windows. Foxes Cottage is a 4-Star Award-winning holiday cottage that’s stylish, cosy and comfortable.

Welcome Hospitality Packs

Enjoy a ‘taste of Dorset’ when you arrive, with our complimentary Welcome Pack. If you’re staying up to four nights, you’ll receive our Standard Welcome Pack, comprising a pint of milk, tea, coffee, scones, chocolates and biscuits.

When you stay for longer, you’ll be greeted with our Luxury Welcome Pack, which also includes a loaf of rustic farmhouse bread, scones, butter, jam and clotted cream.

We can also provide a Dorset Breakfast Pack that includes local meats and cereal. For special occasions, we have the Upton Grange Celebration Package including champagne and appropriate decorations in your cottage. Ask for details about these two options.

As far as possible, all the items are sourced locally. The contents of a pack may vary depending on availability.

The Dorset Countryside

From the moment you arrive at your holiday cottage, you’re spoilt for choice for things to do. Our estate gardens, right outside your door, are a haven for wildlife. We’re surrounded by open fields and quiet footpaths, and it’s a relatively short walk to the coast, or the historic Smugglers’ Inn at Osmington.

Go a little further to discover the Georgian seafront and family-friendly beach at Weymouth, or the busy county town of Dorchester. Popular and family-friendly attractions nearby include the primate haven of Monkey World, the heavyweight displays at the Tank Museum and the haunted Nothe Fort.

Other places of interest include the rock arch of Durdle Door, the atmospheric ruins of Corfe Castle, and the ‘lost’ village of Tyneham.

Self catering cottages

We want your holiday with us to be as hassle-free as possible. That’s why we provide:

  • Fully-equipped kitchen. This includes: electric cooker and hob, fridge and freezer, microwave and dishwasher

Pheasants, Ratty’s and Owls also have a washing machine. Some cottages have an open fire.

Parking & transport

There’s plenty of parking at Upton Grange for all our guests. Access is from the A353, along Upton Farm Lane, which is a single track road with passing places. The final stretch is a gravel driveway to the buildings. There is level access to Reception.

The nearest railway station is Weymouth, which is around 5 1/2 miles away, or about 15-20 minutes by taxi. A number of taxi firms can provide cars to and from the station. There is currently no bus service to Upton Grange.

If it’s appropriate for you, we also have access to a helipad!
