With its own porch doorway to the rear of the complex and large front windows overlooking the gardens, Rattys Retreat is the holiday home that guests return to time and time again. The centre-piece of the cottage’s superb living area is the huge Purbeck stone open-hearth fireplace. The deeply upholstered lounge-suite waits to embrace you.
A conveniently equipped kitchen makes makes light of holiday catering. Your spacious master bedroom is light and atmospheric. Sleeping in Ratty’s traditional ‘four poster’ bed is a rare treat. This room also features a vanity area, private sitting area and en-suite WC.
Where required, a child may be accommodated on the master bedroom sofa-bed. Twin Brass beds feature in the second bedroom which is decorated in the country cottage style reminiscent of a story book. There is a separate bathroom with natural hand cut granite tiles. Decor and furnishings have been carefully selected to create a uniquely memorable holiday cottage.
Enjoy a ‘taste of Dorset’ when you arrive, with our complimentary Welcome Pack. If you’re staying up to four nights, you’ll receive our Standard Welcome Pack, comprising a pint of milk, seasonal fresh fruit, tea, coffee, scones, chocolates and biscuits.
When you stay for longer, you’ll be greeted with our Luxury Welcome Pack, which also includes a loaf of rustic farmhouse bread, scones, butter, jam and clotted cream.
We can also provide a Dorset Breakfast Pack that includes local meats and cereal. For special occasions, we have the Upton Grange Celebration Package including champagne and appropriate decorations in your cottage. Ask for details about these two options.
As far as possible, all the items are sourced locally. The contents of a pack may vary depending on availability.
From the moment you arrive at your holiday cottage, you’re spoilt for choice for things to do. Our estate gardens, right outside your door, are a haven for wildlife. We’re surrounded by open fields and quiet footpaths, and it’s a relatively short walk to the coast, or the historic Smugglers’ Inn at Osmington.
Go a little further to discover the Georgian seafront and family-friendly beach at Weymouth, or the busy county town of Dorchester. Popular and family-friendly attractions nearby include the primate haven of Monkey World, the heavyweight displays at the Tank Museum and the haunted Nothe Fort.
Other places of interest include the rock arch of Durdle Door, the atmospheric ruins of Corfe Castle, and the ‘lost’ village of Tyneham.
